A private footpath from the garden leads to the sea front. The garden backs onto a meadow and Forestry tracks leading to Kippford, on the Urr estuary. Kippford is popular for sailing and has a shop, and 2 pubs both of which serve food. The forest tracks also link directly to the A710 and 7Stanes mountain bike circuit a short ride away.
Ideal for families or groups, there is plenty of space inside to spread out or get some quiet with a large 30 foot traditional lounge, sunroom, kitchen and dining room, a quiet ground floor bedroom with patio doors to the garden, and a light airy en-suite king sized master bedroom with stunning sea views. Craigrannoch House has cleverly adapted the ground floor to allow complete wheelchair access if required. The adaptions include a ramp from the driveway into the house, wider doors to the main rooms, enlarged ground floor bedroom, with King size or twin beds which have electrically operated head/foot raise, a wet room with shower seat and toilet, all with suitable grab handles, there is also a portable ramp which allows access into the sunroom. This adapted area can of course be used by able bodied guests. The kitchen can be accessed by wheelchair, however the appliances have not been adapted for a wheelchair user.
Rockcliffe's quiet sandy bay is great for kid's rock pooling while adults can enjoy cliff and forest walks or biking. A boot room and large lockup facility for equipment and a purpose built bike wash area is provided. A short drive takes you to a large sandy bay at Sandyhills, golf courses at Kippford, Colvend and Southerness, small towns for eating out, ice skating, swimming pools, parks and places of historical interest such as the famous Sweetheart Abbey and Threave Gardens.
