Alasdair and Pauline Ash welcome you to Craiguart Bed & Breakfast situated in the heart of the beautiful Tweed valley 1½ miles from Peebles, and close to Glentrss.
All rooms have en-suite shower rooms, LCD TV/DVD, tea/coffee making facilities and patio doors giving access to the rear garden and decked patio area. There are tables to sit out and enjoy the peace and stunning views of the tweed valley. A gas BBQ is also available there for guests to use.
There is a guest Lounge area with Sky TV, DVD & Video.
Alasdair and Pauline provide a varied breakfast menu ranging from a full hearty Scottish breakfast to something lighter e.g. Scrambled egg & smoked salmon or fresh fruit and yoghurt. We like to use the best local produce and enjoy making our own jams. Early breakfast times are not a problem.
Packed lunches and evening meals are also available on request. Late supper times can be catered for.
Guests arriving during the day will be greeted with either coffee or tea and a selection of biscuits/shortbread.
The unspoilt and spectacular countryside around Peebles is an ideal location for cycling, fishing, walking, sightseeing or relaxing.
For Mountain Bikers we are ideally located just ½ mile from Glentress forest and 4 miles from Innerleithen trails. We have secure lockup storage and washing/drying facilities for bikes and clothes.
For Golfers we have local courses at Cardrona ½ mile and Peebles within 2 miles and many more within half an hours drive.
For Fishermen there is superb Salmon and Trout fishing locally on famous River Tweed.
There are riverside walks both direct from Craiguart and also locally in Peebles itself. For the more energetic there are extensive forest trails at Glentress forest just 1/2 a mile down the road.
The beautiful walled gardens at Kailzie are just 3 miles away. Whilst you are at Kailzie don't forget to visit Osprey watch to see the nesting pair of Ospreys. Also worth a visit locally is Dawyck Botanic Gardens near Stobo. Philiphaugh Salmon Viewing Centre, by Selkirk is within a 30 mins drive. Discover the colourful heritage and ancestry of the Scottish Borders. Visit Neidpath castle just outside Peebles, Scotland oldest inhabited house at Traquair, Scots birthplace at Abbotsford or St Ronan's Well at Innerleithen, all within 10 miles.
