The farm lies between the villages of Salen and Dervaig in a quiet relaxing part of the island, with panoramic views, burns and waterfalls, great walks and sunsets.
The central location makes it an ideal base for visiting many areas of Mull and for viewing the abundance of wildlife in and around Glen Aros and the rest of the island. Golden eagles, white tailed eagles and hen harriers are regularly seen over the farm with Mulls white tailed (sea eagle) viewing hide just across the glen at Loch Frisa. May and June are ideal times to stay for viewing the sea eagles and chicks on the nest. Crannich is a working farm breeding an elite herd of Highland cattle. There are friendly horses, and regular visits of wild deer from the surrounding forests. It is a great base for walking and cycling in the glen and forest trails. There is also fishing available (by permit) on the River Aros and Loch Frisa.
Crannich offers three modern, well-equipped 28 feet caravans, set in their own grounds above the farmhouse and barns looking out over the glen. Each sleeping 2-4 people. Outside each caravan is a sitting area with a picnic table, grassed area and car parking space. There is a fenced off pond recently established to attract wildlife, with a newly landscaped area surrounding the pond.
