Oh la, la: Sunny Spring in the Borders!

Everything comes to life again; simple things like the grass in the fields, the buds of the flowers and the tender leaves on some of the shrubs.

After the white of the snowdrops, now yellow daffodil colours are everywhere in the gardens and alongside the roads. Those flowers are really the signs of Spring arriving.

Of course not only in nature we see the new season; our fields are full with new-born little lambs, jumping up and playing with their friends and cousins.

No, Spring cannot be beaten and therefore, we try to make the most of it!

Prices start from only £276 for 2 people staying 2 nights in a classic room. Valid: 1st March - 31st May 2016

And yes, then there is the Stunning Summer in the Borders!

The transition from Spring to Summer is almost seamless, yet we see that the daffodils have disappeared but the glorious and colourful rhododendrons have come in their place. The trees are now full with leaves and the tree canopies look young and fresh.

The lambs are getting bigger but are still playful and they are still nurtured by their mothers, but not for long now anymore!

Rollling hills, grazing sheep and silvery rivers are to be enjoyed throughout the Border region but please, keep it quiet so that we can keep it all for ourselves! Historic houses and abbeys, the legends of Sir Walter Scott and the famous Rosslyn Chapel are all extending a very warm welcome.

Prices start from £320 for 2 people staying 2 nights in a classic room. Valid: 1st June - 31st August 2016

All of a sudden it is Amazing Autumn!

Spring may go over into Summer quite quietly but Autumn is a more aggressive season with storms, rain but, believe it or not, some utterly lovely days with warm sunshine. Autumn actually is a very special season indeed. The hills are covered with a variety of colours and the leaves on the trees are seemingly made of gold! An early frost gives the landscape a different face and invites the walkers on to the hills. Crisp air fills the lungs and energises the body; so we all love an Amazing Autumn!

Prices start from £276 for 2 people staying 2 nights in a classic room. Valid: 1st September - 31st October 2016

The Wonderful Winter creeps in!

The change between Autumn and Winter is not clearly defined and suddenly there is snow on the hills and frost on the shrubs.  Nature goes to sleep and the gardens get a rest after the earlier seasons. However, there is nothing better than building snowmen with the children and grab the sledges to go carefully downhill and then at home a mug with hot chocolate!

Winter of course is also preparing for the festive season. The shopping, the decorations, the party and party planning, menus to sort out; it all adds to the special time that is Winter! Although nature is rather sleepy, by end January the tiny and delicate snowdrops are making their appearance and then we realise the Spring is not too far away!

Prices start from £246 for 2 people staying 2 nights in a classic room. Valid: 1st November 2016 - 28th February 2017
