Peerie is Shetland dialect for small. Despite being less than 30 square metres Da Peerie Hoose is well designed and provides comfortable and affordable, quality accommodation on one level.
The cottage is peerie, yet delights our guests with it's spacious, airy feel and stylish decor. Newly refurbished to a high standard in 2019, a stained glass window casts the beautiful Shetland dawn into the vaulted ceiling and simple lines of the interior. The multi-fuel stove is a focal point and warms the open plan, studio style living area. (Electric radiator also available). The queen sized double bed is made with fresh white bed linen and we supply a cooling fan for those warmer nights.
There is a unique separate shower room made from natural stone from around the property, with underfloor heating and plenty of towels and robes for your convenience.
The well equipped, bespoke kitchen is handcrafted with repurposed flooring from the original beech cottage floor. You can also eat outside at the picnic table on the patio. We provide a BBQ and fire-pit for your use. Private laundry facilities are available and there's storage space for sports equipment and bikes, with off street parking right at the cottage door.
With no minimum night's stay, and open all year round, Da Peerie Hoose is popular for a short break and Stay-cations. Guests receive a welcome pack of local produce and there is a wide selection of complementary teas and coffees.
