Dane's Stone View is a light and airy bungalow situated in the preservation village of Moulin which is approximately a 20 minute walk up the road from Pitlochry. It is suitable for both the adventurer and those who are less able.There are over 50 Munros ( that is a mountain above 3,000 feet) within an hour's drive. There are also numerous way marked paths, including many which can be accessed within a few seconds of your front door including Craigower and Ben Vrackie.
Four of Scotland's skiing areas are less than 2 hours' drive away. There are also numerous cycle paths, both off road and road. For those cyclists who are able why not try part of, or indeed the whole route of the Etape Caledonia race which takes you up hill and down dale of some of the most stunning scenery in Scotland.
For the bird watchers ospreys can be seen at the Loch of the Lowes by Dunkeld from April to September; goosanders, commom sandpipers and dippers frequent the rivers, and golden plovers and goldeneagles may be seen above the hills and moors. Rare arctic alpine flowers are to be found on Ben Lawers, while in the summer the oak woods in the river valleys are alive with song birds, such as willow warbler, wood warblers, pied fly catchers and redstart.
There is an 18 hole championship golf course literally 2 minutes down the road and Gleneagles and St. Andrew's golf courses are within easy driving distance.
Many too come for the fishing, which is both varied and in abundance locally.
