Sitting down its own private drive on the shore of one of the secluded bays of Loch Creran is Darach Cottage, a charming, detached house in a large, enclosed garden near Port Appin (3 miles) in Argyll.
Once inside, a warm and inviting entrance hall leads through to the sitting room where the wood-burning stove begs you to curl up in front of it and the charming window seat is a good place to spot wildlife from.
The kitchen has a lovely homely feeling with an Aga at its heart, a dishwasher that makes short work of the washing up and a dining area that has been set up by the window in order to make the most of the view out towards the loch.
Laundry facilities are housed in the utility room that has plenty of storage space for shoes and boots and handy drying racks for coats, etc.
The bedrooms are all laid out upstairs where there are two double rooms (one en suite), a twin room and a bathroom with a bath and shower over.
Outside the grassed garden is ideal for children and pets to run around in and there is plenty of parking right by the house. With fields to the side and gentle, wooded hills behind the cottage’s setting is quite idyllic with excellent unimpeded views across the bay to the sparkling waters of the loch.
