Darnlee is a substantial listed house set in beautiful extensive parkland, in Darnick on the outskirts of Melrose.
At the heart of the house, which is filled with original furniture and antiques, is a delightful garden room, a family kitchen and grand formal dining room. The drawing room with large bay window and cosy open fire is situated upstairs and there are four bedrooms spread out over two floors. To the rear is a private walled garden and wildlife enthusiasts will love the informal wild garden at the front where rabbits play.
Melrose (1m) is a charming town with plenty of amenities and history enthusiasts will enjoy visiting Melrose Abbey and the Trimontium Museum. Walkers are spoilt for choice with the Eildon hills to climb and the nearby St Cuthbert’s and Southern Upland Ways. It is an easy 10 minute walk from the train station at Tweedbank, from which you can be up in the centre of Edinburgh in under an hour.
