There are also spectacular coastal walks around Mavis Grind and Muckle Roe. The site offers 13 pitches for touring outfits with electric hook ups, water, chemical toilet and motorvan waste disposal points, laundry, showers, toilets, licensed club, launching slipway and mooring pontoon.
There are shops, restaurants, takeaways and a leisure centre all within easy walking distance of the site. The licensed clubroom is open each evening and all the occupants of visiting outfits become temporary members for the duration of their stay. The club run dinghy sailing courses and yacht races throughout the summer and Shetland Windsurfuing Club and Sullom Voe Sub Aqua Club are also based on site so there is always some kind of water based activity to watch or perhaps participate in.
The coastal scenery around Muckle Roe and Mavis Grind is magnificent and a 4 mile walk along the track from the end of the Muckle Roe road to the Hams of Roe is well worth the effort to see what is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful and secluded spots in Shetland.
