Dervaig is an attractive conservation village on the edge of a sheltered sea loch. Pretty whitewashed houses border a quiet main street. There are lovely walks along Loch Cuin, into the forest and to nearby standing stones.
Dervaig is a good base from which to explore this corner of Mull and for those without a car, there is a bus service from Tobermory to Calgary which stops at the entrance to the Hall grounds. Ulva Ferry is not far away from which there are boat trips to the Treshnish Isles and Staffa, and a short ferry crossing to the Island of Ulva with beautiful woodlands, walks, historic places and restaurant.
The Hall is an important focal point for the village and surrounding area, and hosts a variety of events throughout the year. During the summer the fortnightly Producers Markets provide a chance to sample some of the excellent food available locally: cheeses, meats, preserves and home baking and buy a variety of crafts made on the island.
The Hostel comprises two bunkrooms providing accommodation for up to 6 guests: 'Quinish' for up to 4 people and 'Cuin' for 2 people. Each room has adult sized bunk beds, an en-suite with WC, shower and basin. There is a communal kitchen and a seperate sitting area with a dining area in the foyer . The main hall can be hired if required by guests and there is a sports area available.
Book by the bed or the room, by the night or the week.
