Dunallan is a beautiful Victorian villa located close to the centre of Grantown-on-Spey, within easy reach of local amenities and shops. It is ideally located for exploring the Cairngorms National Park, touring the Speyside Whisky Trail, or for walkers on the Speyside Way. Equally its location lends itself to those interested in the natural world, such as birdwatchers or mountain bikers. The house itself is comprised of 6 ensuite letting rooms, ranging from twin rooms and double rooms, to family rooms. All rooms have televisions and tea and coffee making facilities and have free Wi-Fi. The rooms have original features in keeping with a period house. There is a recently redecorated, large sitting room with a television and a wide range of books for use by guests, and a large dining room for breakfast. The beautiful garden is available for use by guests and there is also parking for cars at the rear of the house.
We take pride in minimising the environmental impact of the guest house, with heating generated by an Ofgem-approved wood pellet boiler which is housed to the rear of the property, and solar panels on the roof.
Breakfast caters for all tastes, with a cold buffet with fruit juice, a selection of cereals, yogurt, and fresh fruit. Guests pre-order their cooked breakfast the night before, so that the food can be prepared for the time guests want to eat. Options for breakfast include smoked salmon and scrambled egg (all eggs supplied from a local organic source), Scottish kippers or a full Scottish breakfast, all using local ingredients.
From Dunallan, guests can dine out at a selection of Grantown’s restaurants which are all within a few minutes’ walk. Very close to Dunallan, there are footpaths through Anagach Woods some of which lead down to the scenic River Spey and the Old Spey Bridge. The Grantown Golf Club, Craig Maclean Leisure Centre, the Tennis Club and Bowling Green are also close by.
Covid 19 update: We have made a number of changes in response to the pandemic. A Guest Protocol is given to guests on arrival, which sets out what we are doing to minimise the risk to all. We have in place social distancing, a sanitising station at the entrance, daily cleaning of communal areas, stairs and doors with antiviral disinfectant, a new schedule for refreshes to reduce transmission, and thorough room cleaning on departure.
