Dunanfiew Cottage is a detached cottage set in rough grassed gardens in a very remote spot near Strathdon (10m) in the Cairngorms National Park. At the heart of the cottage is a wood burning stove, with comfy seating and a well-equipped dining kitchen area. You can walk off out into the hills from the doorstep or fish on the River Don and you are surrounded by wildlife including red squirrels, eagles and roe deer. The Allargue Arms (2m) serves food, so is ideal for a break from cooking. Corgarff Castle (3m) is a 16th century tower house that is open to the public in summer. There is skiing at The Lecht (4.5m) in winter and mountain biking in summer.
