The modern kitchen is well provided with crockery, glasses, cooking utensils and all the items you’ll require for self-catering. There is a cooker with gas stove and also a microwave and toaster. The dining area comfortably seats four and provides great views of Calton Hill. There is also a dishwasher and a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. A welcome pack of tea, coffee, bread, milk and other “essentials” is included. There is a supermarket about 2 minutes walk away if further provisions are required and there’s a wide choice of restaurants and cafés in the local area.
The bathroom is modern with a large bath and with a shower overhead. Soap, shower gel and shampoo are provided.
The apartment is on the 3rd floor of a beautiful old stone building - there's no lift but the climb (with lots of level sections) is worth it when you see the views! From the living room there's a fabulous view up the Royal Mile, with Canongate Kirk & the Tolbooth Clock in the foreground. There's also a stunning open view from the same room to Calton Hill and its eclectic collection of monuments. The apartment is located next to the delightful Dunbar’s Close Garden, known locally as the Secret Garden, and is about a 3-minute walk from Holyrood Palace, the open spaces of Holyrood Park and the location of Arthur’s Seat - Edinburgh’s highest hill, an extinct volcano, and well-worth climbing.
The apartment has central heating and the price of heating and electricity is included.
