Inverlounan Road is a single track private road leading out from the village and following the east shore of Loch Goil. In parts the road is in an elevated position and there are many original grand Victorian holiday homes built between the road on the grounds sloping down to the loch side.
Accessible, but not visible from the road, Dunmhor Cottage enjoys its own secluded plot. To the front of the cottage the lawns run down to the water, and the screened borders down each side of the garden ensure maximum privacy. The views across the loch to the far hills are stunning at any time of year.
There is a parking bay for one car off the road at the entrance to the property. Please be aware that there are 57 wide steps leading down through the mature garden to the door. This makes the property unsuitable for anyone with restricted mobility, but once you are in the cottage, everything is on the level.
Dunmhor is a compact detached bungalow style cottage with and open plan lounge, diner and kitchen. Sliding doors to the front with access to the patio area, and of course, all the better for enjoying the view. The patio area is unfenced, so care is need with young children. There are steps leading down to the large lawn area which slopes down to the loch where there is a high sea-wall. Log fire in the lounge area. Please be aware that logs are not provided but are available at the local Costcutter store.
It is a pleasant 10 minute stroll down Inverlounan Road into the village where you will find the post office and general good store as well as The Goil Inn and the Shorehouse Inn. Both serve food and have bars. Either a 30 minute walk through the village, or around the lochside; or a 5 minute drive on quiet roads, you will find more dining and activities available at the Drimsynie Estate.
