A popular spot with walkers, hikers and cyclists, it lies a short walk from the Southern Upland Way. The village is a mile from the Dumfries & Galloway border and the new Lowther Hills Ski Club. Leadhills has a hotel, a shop, narrow-gauge railway and the UK's highest golf course. Nearby attractions include the Crawick Multiverse, Drumlanrig Castle, Biggar Adventure and Drumlanrig Castle.
