Eigg is a beautiful island with spectacular beaches, wildlife, archaeological sites, interesting geology and a vibrant island community. The island is very popular with landscape and wildlife photographers.
The Shepherd's Hut sleeps two; the bed can be made in to a double or two singles. The Shepherd's Hut has a wood burning stove, electricity, water and a small food prep & eating area. The gas hob and fridge are in a small shed, just outside. As is the composting toilet.
It's great for romantic couples and good friends looking for somewhere to relax.
Dogs are welcome at The Shepherd's Hut.
Hot showers can be found at the Pier which is a 10 to 15 minute walk away. Here you will also find the shop, tearoom and ferry connections.
We provide a bedding, a hand towel, tea towels and toilet paper, but not bath/shower towels.
Eigg is small enough to be able to walk most places. Although you can't bring your car, you can bring bikes on the ferry, or hire them from Eigg Adventures with a discount. We also have two kayaks for use at your own risk.
The Shepherd'sHut is located within 1 mile of the shop, café & restaurant, only 15 minutes from Kildonnan beach and 2-3 miles from Laig Beach and Singing Sands. It provides an ideal base for exploring the island.
We will meet you at the pier and transport you to your accommodation and drop you off at end of your stay.
The Eigg Shop is well stocked and groceries can be ordered in advance through the Eigg Shop and delivered to the hut for your arrival. Galmisdale Bay cafe, bar and restaurant is located at the pier, and Lageorna Restaurant in Cleadale provides exceptional evening meals, although you must book in advance.
