Eildon Cottage is set in the village of Melrose, a detached cottage that has a secluded feel whilst still being well-placed for exploring the Scottish Borders.
Inside the wood-burning stove in the sitting room just begs to be curled up in front of. The dining kitchen has a large gas range to cook on and the cottage is all on one level with a spacious double bedroom, twin bedroom and modern bathroom. Outside is a charming deck (furniture) and enclosed grassed garden with summer house.
It is 10 minutes’ walk to Melrose where there are shops, an excellent deli, a butcher and plenty of cafés, restaurants and pubs. Golfers will love the course at the foot of the Eildon hills that are popular with walkers. The train station at Tweedbank (2m) allows you to be in Edinburgh in under an hour.
