The house is an ideal commuter location for the beautiful East Lothian beaches and the famous Links golf courses at Gullane, North Berwick and Dunbar. The John Muir trail also runs along the gorgeous coastal scenic route.
On your doorstep is the Duke of Buccleuch's enchanting Dalkeith Country Park with great oaks! The beautifully restored Restoration Yard is perfect for a pit stop serving local produce and artisanal fare, whilst Fort Douglas provides huge fun for kids up to 12 years and Zorbing for everyone runs throughout the summer.
Eskbank is steeped in history & offers Newbattle Abbey to explore just 2 mins drive from the house as well as lovely golf courses such as Broomieknowe, Newbattle and Melville.
A stones throw from the house is Melville Castle a great place to have afternoon tea and the Butterfly & insect world at Dobbies is just 3 minutes away by car.
The historic Dalkeith Country Park is a short walk away with a glorious park to roam and a cafe and restaurant and artisanal shopping.
The No.3 bus runs every 10 minutes taking you into the heart of Edinburgh. A 10 min walk takes you to the train station by Tesco Supermarket. Trains run regularly into Edinburgh Centre or to the panoramic Borders for a wonderful day out.
For teenagers - Ryze an indoor trampoline park is only 5 mins drive away. In Edinburgh there is the lure of the fabulous National museum a great attraction for the whole family.

Eskbank provides easy access to the M8 to spend a day in Glasgow or to visit the famous Forth Road Bridges of which the most recent opened just last autumn.
There are also great restaurants within walking distance of the house such as Ithaas Indian or The Cavalier in Dalkeith. The Sun Inn or the Paper Mill at Loanhead offer a very attractive menu and takeaways are just a 2 mins walk away.

Very close to A1 to reach East Lothian coastline, beaches, golf. Close to M8 for Glasgow & Forth Bridges. A720 bypass takes you to Edinburgh Airport in just 20 minutes. Edinburgh city can be reached in 20 minutes by car on A7 or A772.
Great transport links such as No.3 bus runs every 10 mins into Edinburgh centre. It's just 5 mins walk from the house. Eskbank Train Station has regular trains into Edinburgh Waverley or Haymarket and takes around 30 mins. Trains to The Borders offer a great day out for everyone.
