Faire Chaolais is our newly built holiday house in Morar. It sleeps six: there are three bedrooms, two with en-suite shower rooms, and one master bathroom. On the upper floor there is a large open-plan living and dining area with leather sofas, log-burning stove and balcony all looking out to the sea.
The house was architecturally designed in contemporary style by Dualchas to make the most of the position of the site and was shortlisted for an RIBA award. It sits on former croft land accessed directly off the main Road to the Isles with the beautiful West highland railway line running above the site. It is a short walk to beaches on the north and south side of the River Morar (tidal on the north side).
The house has a fully equipped kitchen with acrylic worktops, dishwasher, induction hob, electric oven, microwave and fridge-freezer; utility room with washing machine and drying rack; Freesat TV, DVD player and bluetooth audio player; a supply of wet weather games and books.
Faire Chaolais is warm and cosy throughout the year, with underfloor heating supplied by air-source heat pump and a heat recovery ventilation system.
