The Hayshed, Plooughman's Bothy and Blacksmith's Bothy, each sleeping four, plus the larger Lighthouses sleeping 7/8, are all located on Ivy Cottage Farm, on the upper slopes of the lovely Corriecravie Valley in Arran's south-west corner, overlooking the sea towards Kintyre.
These attractive cottages are owner-maintained and fully equipped, with all modern conveniences, and electric heating throughout (with underfloor heating in the 4-star Lighthouses). The three smaller cottages each have a spiral staircase, and provide comfortable 3-star self-catering for couples and small families, with two upstairs bedrooms (double and twin), ground-floor bathroom, open-plan lounge/dining area/kitchen, and satellite TV. Patio doors lead onto a paved terrace with table and BBQ, and there is ample private parking in the adjacent courtyard, Lighthouses faces the sea, and has its own parking area to the front and side of the property, The Blacksmith's Bothy is detached, with a small conservatory, and has its own enclosed garden, up a short flight of steps to the side.
Access to the site lies down a stone and concrete track from the road, and there is further pedestrian access down a rough track to the shore, with a breathtaking panorama of sea, land and sky from the top of the braes. There is an opportunity to see otters, seals and migratory birds along the rocky shoreline, with its rugged geology and rockpools.
Pony trekking, golf course, indoor swimming-pool and long sandy beach all at nearby Blackwaterfoot.
