Beautifully renovated and presented, Farr House is a special place to savour and enjoy the good things in life. As well as being finished to a high standard and thought throughout, this house is welcoming, exceptionally comfortable and well equipped. With all the bedrooms en suite you really are spoilt for choice. The beds are comfortable and inviting to slip into at the end of a long day.
The high ceilinged TV and Sitting rooms have open fires at both ends and the adjoining door creates a wonderful open space. The family crest is set in stained glass in a lovely round window in the booked lined libarary– a nod to the previous life as a chapel. Comfortable sofas, antiques and family paintings – all make this a house of personality and luxury. The dining room is a light open space – perfect for a good evening of fine food and the additional breakfast room is ideal for mornings and children. The kitchen is very sleek and modern as well as very functional. It has been built to suit cooking for large numbers – warming drawers, 3 dishwashers, serving hatches, a large Aga as well as range cooker, and boiling water taps – all have been carefully thought of to make life easier.
The enormous boot and drying room will happily make sure you and your belongings, including dogs, will soon be dry and cosy if the weather is unkind. If the weather is good then you have your own tennis court to enjoy and a private picture postcard loch complete with a boat for trout fishing or, for the brave, a chance to try some wild swimming! There may be salmon fishing available on the Findhorn or Nairn by arrangement. Numerous fine walks surround the house and estate. Inverness with all its facilities is under 1 hour away as is, the airport and the lovely beaches of Moray are an easy day trip. Head south west and you are at Loch Ness – magnificent and moody. Numerous golf courses are in the area including championship ones like Castle Stuart or Nairn. Mountain biking, paintball, birdwatching and wildlife are all here - You will not be short of things to do!
There is a separate cottage for larger parties and for smaller groups than 18 it is possible to lock off 1 or 2 bedrooms so be sure to ask, as this is a house offering great flexibility. To complete your stay, a housekeeper comes in 2 hours a day to tidy and clean fires – a fabulous extra service when on holiday and if you want even more spoiling then the housekeeper can do extra hours by arrangement.
