The lodge sits within the footprint of 16th century Fenton Tower, yet nestled cleverly into the landscape to allow guests to relax, sit back and enjoy the view.
Beautifully appointed throughout, the style-led interior has been cleverly designed, drawing inspiration from nature and the gentle colours of the sea. Farrow & Ball colours have been used to great effect here, adding warmth and colour in all the right places, along with tactile furnishings in wool and linen.
French doors lead out on the patio which extends onto lawn and acres of private land for walking or just the simple enjoyment of taking in the view and doing nothing.
The lodge has an entrance porch for outdoor gear leading into an open plan living space, while the galley kitchen is divided by a floating wall which makes chat and a glass of bubbles a distinctly sociable affair whilst prepping supper.
Two sumptuous bedrooms sit either side of the living space, both with zip and link beds which offer flexibility for single guests or two couples. The two adjoining bathrooms add a touch of glamour with underfloor heating, double basins and lashings of hot water – one with a large walk-in shower and the other offering a little bath-time luxury.
GROUND FLOOR
Entrance porch with hanging space and space for storage of outdoor kit. There is a set of external stone steps leading to the entrance porch. A ramp can be provided on request.
Open plan kitchen/living room.
Kitchen – galley style with induction hob, electric oven, slimline dishwasher, fridge with ice box, microwave, Magimix Nespresso machine.
Sitting room – double sofa, two armchairs, Smart TV, Bose Bluetooth speaker. French doors lead out onto a patio area with outdoor furniture with superb views across open countryside.
Dining area – foldaway table with seating capacity for up to four guests.
South bedroom with zip and link beds which can be configured as a super king double or twin, side tables, wardrobe, small chest of drawers, dressing table, chair, Roberts DAB radio and wall-mounted Smart TV.
En suite shower room with large walk-in shower with separate mixer, twin basins, heated towel rail and WC.
North bedroom with zip and link beds which can be configured as a super king double or twin, side tables, wardrobe, chest of drawers, window seat, dressing table, Roberts DAB radio and wall-mounted Smart TV.
En suite bathroom with bath and shower over, twin basins, heated towel rail and WC.
Accessibility – there is a set of steps with a handrail down to the main access into the lodge and thereafter the property sits on one floor. For guests with restricted mobility or in need of wheelchair access, there is a paved path up and round the side of the property which would allow access via the front patio and French doors on the front aspect.
OUTSIDE
There is a front patio to the front aspect of the property affording wonderful views across open countryside.
Fenton Lodge is surrounded by a large lawned communal grounds which is shared with Fenton Tower. Guests are asked to respect each other’s privacy when both properties are occupied. Guests to the lodge do not have access to the front lawn and front drive of Fenton Tower. The front of the lodge looks across wide open farmland extending to approximately X acres which is arable with some livestock. Guests are welcome to walk in the wider land of the estate, however dogs will need to be closely supervised and kept under control, and dogs will need to be kept on a lead where there is livestock and horses.
PARKING
There is designated private parking available for two cars to the side of the property.
BABIES & CHILDREN
A travel cot and highchair can be provided on request.
DOGS
One dog is welcome. Dogs must be clean and dry before entering the property and kept out of the bedrooms and off the furniture. A second dog may be considered on request. Please note the garden is not fully enclosed so dogs will require supervision. If walking in the surrounding area, dogs will need to be closely supervised and kept on a lead where there is livestock and horses.
GUEST AMENITIES
Bed linen, White Company towels and Penhaligon's toiletries are provided for all guests. A hairdryer is provided.
