Traditional, stone-built, self-catering cottage in centre of Blackwaterfoot Ferry Cottage is a small, comfortable cottage looking out over Blackwaterfoot harbour and across the Kilbrannan Sound to the Mull of Kintyre. It nestles in the very heart of Blackwaterfoot village in Arran. Within 100 yards you will find all the local shops (butcher, baker, grocer/post office/off-sales, newsagent), the garage and the Kinloch Hotel. One of Arran's best beaches, the very excellent Cairnhouse Riding Centre and the equally excellent Shiskine Golf Course are less than a 10 minute walk away.
The cottage sleeps two and has been refurbished over the last few years. There is a roomy lounge with a dining area. It is equipped with a small colour TV (freesat), a DVD player with a selection of DVDs, a basic CD player, a selection of board games and some holiday reading. The kitchen is small (easily cleaned) but is fully equiped with an electric cooker, fridge, washing machine, dish washer, electric kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery etc and looks out over the Kilbrannan Sound. The bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Pillows, duvets and extra blankets are provided but sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers are not. Please also bring your own towels and dish-towels. The shower room has two radiators, a large shower, wash-hand and WC. Please don't smoke in the cottage. Sorry - no pets.
Ferry Cottage has a large, enclosed garden on several levels with a secluded picnic table, a drying area and garden benches offering superb views over the harbour. There is also the original village well in the garden (now partially filled in). When the sun shines it is a real sun trap (garden lounger in cottage) so take care.
