Two traditional semi-detached farm cottages, each sleeping six people, situated a mile from Coldstream, surrounded by lush green rolling farmland, they offer a tranquil and peaceful setting free from the hustle and bustle of city life.

They really are a fantastic base from which to discover and explore the whole of the region. Just on the border of Scotland and England, the cottages are in a prime location overlooking the River Tweed, which for centuries has been the geographic border frontier.

Only 14 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed, and about an hour’s drive from Edinburgh and Newcastle, the cottages are in a great central location from which to tour north Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. The East Coast mainline railway station at Berwick-upon-Tweed offers a regular service to both Edinburgh and Newcastle.

There are many excellent walking routes right on the doorstep with magnificent views, bird-watching and wildlife spotting. Walkers can also delight in the stunning and rugged Berwickshire Coast or drive south to the beautiful, peaceful beaches of North Northumberland.

History enthusiasts are only a 30 minute drive from any one of the four magnificent Border Abbeys - Kelso, Jedburgh, Dryburgh and Melrose. There are also many castles and grand country estates in the region including Mellerstain House, Manderston House, Floors Castle, and the home of Lord Armstrong at Cragside.

Sporting enthusiasts will delight in the local golf courses, with The Hirsel Golf Club, less than a mile away, and recently featuring in Golf Monthly’s “Top 100 Hidden Gems of the UK and Northern Ireland”. If a links course is preferred, Goswick Golf Club can be found just south of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

There are also many attractive and scenic cycling opportunities.

Of course, the River Tweed is world renowned for its trout and salmon fishing and trout fishing can also be had in some of its tributaries including the Blackadder and the Whiteadder
