FlatOne is a recently refurbished modern 2 bedroom apartment in the centre of Kirkwall, Orkney's main town. Within a few minutes walking you will find beautiful St Magnus Cathedral, Earls and Bishops Palaces, cafes, restaurants and attractive independent shops selling Orkney Jewellery, Knitwear, Crafts, Orkney Food and Drink and many other delights. The Highland Park & Scapa Distilleries have daily tours throughout the summer. The supermarkets are within a 10 minute walk and an easy 15 minute walk takes you to The Pickaquoy Centre which has a Swimming Pool and a Cinema among its many facilities
The Bus Station and Tourist Information Centre is directly across the street. There are many Tours to the main historic sites of Skara Brae: Maeshowe: The Standing Stones: Ring of Brodgar: Tomb of the Eagles : Italian Chapel. A 20 minute bus ride will take you to the attractive small town of Stromness where a visit to the Stromness Museum and the Pier Arts Centre is a must. The harbour is also within easy walking if you wish to explore some of Orkney's North Isles like Westray or North Ronaldsay. Or take a bus to Houton from where you can take the ferry to visit the wartime museum at Lyness or walk around the island of Flotta. You may wish to treat yourself to the shortest commercial flight in the world!
There is a small private parking area and also public parking close by. The Apartment has a secure storage area for bicycles canoes etc. and hanging space to dry wetsuits, hiking or fishing gear.
Accommodation comprises a fully equipped kitchen: lounge/ dining TV DVD with movies free WiFi: 1 large Double Bedroom with King size bed: second smaller bedroom with Double bed. Modern shower room with electric shower. Linen and towels provided.
