Fortrose is one of the oldest, prettiest and sunniest towns in the north, with the ‘Black Isle’ noted for its milder climate.
Fuchsia Cottage is situated with a southerly aspect adjacent to the beach and small harbour in Fortrose, overlooking the slipway used by the local sailing club. The cottage is built in the traditional Scottish style (c1800) of stone and is subject to listed & conservation regulations together with the adjoining gable end walls of the original ‘Smithy’ which now forms the rear garden.
Equipped to sleep up to five in two bedrooms, one double and one twin with a ‘Z’ bed for an extra person/child. A cot is also available. Duvets are used on all beds but you will need to provide your own bed linen and towels.
Electric storage heaters and a wood burning stove provide both heat and hot water and can be supplemented by the use of an open fire.
The kitchen has been fully modernised and equipped, with electric oven together and halogon hob. There is a washing machine and fridge provided.
There is a sitting room and lounge/TV room. A digital TV plus a video recorder provide entertainment during the quieter hours. IPOD docking station also available.
The booking period is from 5.00pm on the Saturday of arrival until 11.00am on the Saturday of departure. A deposit of £30 min or 20% per week is payable on booking with the balance due six weeks before arrival. Electricity is included. There are no extra charges. We regret that pets are not allowed.
