Fyne View has a spectacular situation in a little cluster of houses right on the shore of Loch Fyne, about four miles south of Strachur and within an hour's drive of Glasgow, with wonderful views across the loch to the hills of Knapdale. The semi-detached cottage has been equally spectacularly renovated to provide a light and bright holiday home. You can dine in the large and airy living area with uninterrupted loch views, and this leads to a most comfortable lounge with a wood-burning stove as a prominent feature. Upstairs are double and twin bedrooms and shower room. All are furnished to a very high standard.
Dunoon (22m) has all facilities but for immediate needs, Strachur (4m) has an excellent general store with café attached. The famous Creggans Inn is just a short distance further. From Colintraive, just down the coast, you can take the ferry across to Bute for the day and visit impressive Mount Stuart.
Garden enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice, with Benmore Botanic Gardens, Crarae Gardens and Ardkinglas all within easy reach. For a rainy day, Inveraray (24m), with its castle and jail, is always a good bet. For something more energetic, there is excellent hill walking, with sailing and riding also in the area.
