Garbh Allt Shiel is situated about five miles west of Balmoral Castle in the Ballochbuie Forest, and 200 yards south of the River Dee. For most of the year, the open ground in front of the property is inhabited by a large number of deer.

Bookings at Garbh Allt Shiel run on a Sunday to Sunday basis throughout the year.

The semi-detached granite bungalow can sleep up to seven guests in comfort. The accommodation consists of sitting room with open fire, open plan dining room and kitchen (electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher), utility room (freezer and washing machine), double bedroom with en suite shower room, double bedroom with a bathroom adjacent, twin bedroom, single bedroom, family bathroom.
There is a television, DVD player and Freesat in the lounge. Wifi reception is also available.

The maximum occupancy is eight guests- this requires one person to sleep on the trundle bed in the single bedroom.

The property is connected to mains electricity and is heated by oil fired central heating, with an open fire in the sitting room. Fuel for the fire is provided by the Estate.
