Six miles from historic Glencoe and sitting above Loch Leven with views onto the Mamore mountains, Garbhein Cottage is a traditional highland cottage built in the 19th century.
It used to be the house of the deer stalker on the Mamore estate, which hosted many famous guests including King Edward VII.
The cottage is perfect as a romantic hideaway, retreat space or base for outdoor sports and sight seeing, offering flexible accommodation to suit solo travelers, couples, families and friends.
Garbhein Cottage combines traditional charm with modern luxury. The house has recently been renovated and has a high level of insulation to provide warmth and comfort.
The decor is light and bright and the views surrounding the cottage are beautiful.
Wild deer can sometimes be seen grazing on the hillside and in the pasture at the front, especially during winter when they come down the mountain to sleep.
The cottage contains two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with space to accommodate up to five people.
There is a log burning stove, gas central heating and a combination boiler that provides instant hot water.
The brand new and well-equipped kitchen includes an oven, microwave, fridge, separate freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.
The internet connection is excellent and there is a TV, DVD player and Bluetooth music system, which you can connect to other devices to play your own music. We also provide a selection of DVDs and CDs for your use.
We love this cottage and hope that you will enjoy staying here.
This is a place to come if you are looking for a peaceful holiday in a snug retreat amid the spectacular beauty of the Highlands.
