We can supply a lot of items for children such as cots high chairs toys, books, etc and there is a small child’s chair in the lounge area with a compact library to entertain small and tall people.
It is an 8 minutes flat walk to Prestwick town centre or the beach. Prestwick Town train station is a 5 minute drive away. Being near Ayr, a local bus service to near the cottage links the cottage to Ayr Bus Station. Prestwick Airport is under a 10 minute drive away.
The private gardens have been landscaped front and back mostly by the owner herself taking two years of rewarding toil to transform a wilderness that was briars and shrubs but is now a tranquil haven of lawn and shrubs yet near to the bustle of Prestwick, a scenic town in Ayrshire with a range of quality restaurants and pubs. Being in a cul-de-sac, the cottage is very quiet. It is freshly decorated and the floors are fine pine throughout with a scattering of rugs. From the kitchen, you can access the rear walled, enclosed and lawned garden with patio and barbeque. The front garden is lawn with shrubs and a garden bench ideal for a pause for mediation or just to take in the garden.
Prestwick is a busy town with an attractive promenade for walking or cycling. The cottage is close to National Route 7 for cycling the Ayrshire Coastal route with the Ayrshire Coastal Walking Path closeby too. It is ideally located for a holiday with good, easy shopping, attractive coastline with ruined and inhabited castles, sandy beaches, golfing and fun days out for all the family. There are a range of restaurants, pubs and shops to suit all tastes and budgets.
Attractions such as Culzean Castle and Dumfries House are about 30 minutes away by car. Both have houses to explore and vast grounds and gardens that are worth a visit at anytime of the year. Closer to the cottage is Ayr and its suburb of Alloway, the birthplace of Robert Burns and now the home of Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. Ayr has a Racecourse while in Irvine, about half an hour away by car there is the Maritime Museum in its harbour setting. Troon is a fish landing port and there is always something being landed in its harbour.
The Ayr Gaiety Theatre has occasional shows as does The Palace Theatre at Kilmarnock.
For golfers, there is a huge choice of public and private courses to choose from including 3 Open Championship venues namely Old Prestwick, Royal Troon and Turnberry. Prestwick was the venue for the first Open Golf Championship back in 1860. St Nicolas Golf Course is a 2nd links course here in the town dating back to 1851 while the St Cuthbert Golf Club is a parkland course formed in 1899! All the Prestwick courses are within a 10 minute or so flat walk so long as you have a caddie car to take the strain!
There are easy train links to access Glasgow and Edinburgh for a day out leaving the car behind at the station. Ardrossan Harbour for the ferry to the Isle of Arran is under a 30 minute drive away. The ferry at Cairnryan for Northern Ireland is under 50 miles away.
