Offering a true Scottish Island feel, of peace, quiet and remoteness whilst still being very accessible to the Kintyre Peninsula and Oban - "The Gateway to the Isles", this West Coast hideaway offers so much more.
From Garragh Mhor a short walk one way through the old slate mining village gives stunning views of Mull, Inish and the Garvellach islands and 5 minutes the other way takes you to the harbour, Oyster Bar and Restaurant. With the little village shop, Museum and dynamic sea adventures company SEAFARI all within 5 minutes of the B&B and Oban, just 15 miles to the north, this is a perfect location from which to base your holiday.
Dunmore Hill directly behind Garragh Mhor offers one of the best views in the Western Isles; local attractions and excursions are a plenty. Enjoy a Seaweed Foraging Trip, Wildlife Tour; Whirlpool or Seakayaking Adventure or the delights of the beautiful garden of An Cala. Visit Easdale Island with its quarry pools (one is great for swimming - the black slate warmed by the sun); The Puffer Tea shop and Restaurant (serving fabulous seafood and other local fayre) and the quaint car-free village (Photographer's love it here!). Many just like to sit and enjoy the peace and beauty from the many viewpoints around the village.
Garragh Mhor's sun porch, ('Sit-Innie' and several garden swings and decks 'Sit-ooties'); your own private access and key to the door; and attentive and relaxed hosts, offering a wealth of knowledge of the area means you will have a Home from Home experience.
