Our guests can enjoy Dinner and Breakfast without having to leave the comfort of their room. We all our own vegetables, fruit and as a small holding (Croft) we also raise our own meat and have geese, ducks and hens for fresh free range eggs. We bake our own bread and cakes. Guests can enjoy our home baked cakes and afternoon tea if booked. All our meals are cooked to order from our seasonal home grown vegetables and fruit and our menu consists of traditional scottish fair eg highland beef sourced from our highland cows, venison from our local stalker, locally caught salmon, lamb from our stock & our home reared pork, sausages and bacon. We use as much home grown produce in our meals as possible and when externally sourced we only use local suppliers.
The Garrison Of Inversnaid originally a Fort (1 of 4 in Scotland) sits in an elevated position on a knowe with 360 degree mountain and river views. It was built in 1719 after the 1715 Jacobite rebellion by the British Red Coats to maintain a stronghold between the Loch Lomond and Loch Katrine pass. It is said that during the initial construction of the Garrison, Rob Roy MacGregor and his clan attempted to burn down the Garrison but failed and construction continued. The surrounding area featured in the series 'Outlander' which my husband worked on. The RSPB Inversnaid visitor center is directly behind our car park which makes our location ideal for birdwatchers.
