The house was built in 1857 as the residence of a successful local shipyard owner and entrepreneur. It is now a family run guest house providing accommodation of the very highest quality and whilst the house was built in a traditional style which reflected the status of it's first owner there is no lack of modern creature comforts and facilities which will appeal to today's discerning traveller. The elegance of times past combined with 21st century comfort and convenience.
The house sits within a walled garden. There is ample parking in the grounds and secure parking for cars and motor cycles behind high locked gates if required.
The walled garden is largely ornamental with many flowering shrubs and plants although substantial fruit and vegetable plots remain and are continually developed to provide fresh home grown produce for the kitchen. Excellent Food is a top priority at Garvally House.
