We're excited to announce that a major redevelopment project is now underway at Glen Nevis Youth Hostel. The project will transform the current hostel into a contemporary open plan environment with modern facilities and a mix of private rooms and shared accommodation. The hostel will reopen in Spring 2018, and bookings are now being taken. In the meantime, nearby Glencoe Youth Hostel will be offering a warm welcome to guests looking to explore the Lochaber area.
Glen Nevis Youth Hostel is a traditional wooden lodge located at the foot of Ben Nevis. The path to the summit starts almost from its front door!
Close to the end of Scotland's most famous long distance walk, the West Highland Way, and only three miles from the start of the Great Glen Way, Glen Nevis Youth Hostel is ideal for touring the stunning Lochaber area. Thrill seekers can enjoy skiing on the nearby slopes of Aonach Mor, while the Nevis Range allows for mountain biking, windsurfing and even paragliding.
Glen Nevis is the largest and longest established youth hostel in the Glen Nevis/Fort William area. Hosting hill walkers, climbers and backpackers at the foot of Britain's highest mountain, it has been providing accommodation for individuals, families and groups exploring the area since 1933! On reopening in the summer it will offer a range of high quality shared accommodation and private en-suite rooms - perfect for groups, families and individual travellers. New facilities will include a comfortable, contemporary, open-plan living space with fantastic views of the surrounding area, a log burning stove, a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, drying room, laundry and secure bike storage.
Groups can choose a full catering service and cooked or continental breakfast is on offer for all guests who prefer to take the hassle out of preparing for their long day on the hills. We also sell a great selection of local craft beers and wines.
With Britain’s highest mountain, a world class mountain biking course and some of Scotland’s most dramatic landscapes on its doorstep, the newly refurbished hostel will prove to be a popular destination.
