Set in rugged scenery at the foot of the Cuillin Ridge, Glenbrittle Youth Hostel is just over a mile from the beach and close to the magical fairy pools. It’s a great place to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.
Glenbrittle has a long tradition as a base for walkers and climbers tackling the famous Cuillin and the Skye Munros. For a less strenuous pace there are coastal and low-level walks for all abilities and weather conditions, wildlife to watch, archaeology and geology to explore. The Talisker Distillery is seven miles away at Carbost. A short drive will take you to Dunvegan Castle, Glendale Toy Museum and Colbost Croft Museum.
The youth hostel has a modern self-catering kitchen with plenty of dining space. A homely lounge area features old photographs of the area and there are books and games available for the evenings. A small shop on-site sells local beers, cider and wines as well as basic food items and other essentials, including ice-cream!
Private and multi-share rooms are available, but please note that, due to our limited number of rooms, the ten bed room ‘Sgurr Alasdair’ is often classed as mixed gender. We do not accept stag or hen parties at any of our youth hostels.
