Glenbrittle Youth Hostel is set in rugged scenery at the foot of the Cuillin Ridge, just over a mile from the beach and close to the magical fairy pools. It’s a great place to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.
Glenbrittle has a long tradition as a base for walkers and climbers tackling the famous Cuillin and the Skye Munros. For a less strenuous pace there are coastal and low-level walks for all abilities and weather conditions, wildlife to watch, archaeological sites and geology to explore. The Talisker Distillery is about seven miles away at Carbost. Not too far and also worth visiting are Dunvegan Castle, Glendale Toy Museum and Colbost Croft Museum.
The youth hostel has a modern self-catering kitchen with plenty of dining space. The homely lounge area features old photographs of the area and there are lots of books and games as well as a guitar available for the evenings. You’ll also find a small shop on-site which sells basic food items and other essentials, including ice-cream!
Please note that due to our limited number of rooms we are not always able to guarantee that male and female are allocated separate dorms, and the main ten bed dorm is often classed as mixed gender. Also, we do not accept stag or hen parties at any of our youth hostels.
