Accommodation in Gordon Old School B & B is "very comfortable" and self contained. Guests have the choice of a double or a twin room. Both rooms are en suite and are furnished to provide you with all you need for a good nights sleep. Both rooms have flat screen TVs with DVD players. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided. The full Scottish breakfast is both tasty and filling. When booking please specify any allergies or specific dietary requirements. Breakfast is served in the guest lounge/dining area which overlooks the garden. Guests are welcome to enjoy the shared garden. Ample space for free car parking is available outside the property and secure garaging is available for a car and bicycles, if required. An electric vehicle charging point can be made available on request. In this small rural village there is a pub, a cafe and a shop. An art venue is located within the village and on the outskirts you will find a willow weaving workshop. Only a short distance from the B & B you can walk along a disused railway line to visit the local community woodland or if you head in the opposite direction you can visit Greenknowe Tower, owned by Historic Scotland, for free. Within a short drive of Gordon there are castles, such as Floors and Thirlestane, grand houses like Mellerstain and Paxton, as well as the historic Border towns of Kelso, Duns, Melrose and Coldstream. Sir Walter Scott's former home of Abbotsford is within easy driving distance. For the more adventurous the Borders has opportunities for hill walking, mountain biking, cycling, horse riding and fishing. Edinburgh is less than an hour away. You could travel to Edinburgh from Tweedbank on the Borders Railway. This is one of the Great Scenic Railways of Scotland.
