The owners have taken advantage of this fantastic location to create a lodge for all seasons with cosy log fires inside and extensive outdoor activity areas which include a fabulous Hot Tub, Barrel Sauna & Fire Pit.
Snowy River Lodge is located in probably one of the most picturesque locations in Great North Lodges portfolios. It is a truly remarkable log styled lodge, designed throughout with stunning hand-crafted locally sourced wood features. This sensational holiday property, with its commanding river and hill views, sits perfectly, on the banks of the River Dulnain . This lodge, suitable for parties up to 12 guest is situated amongst 10 acres of croft land and manages to combine ultimate luxury with North American pioneer charm.

This very versatile lodge has accommodation equally comfortable for parties and families of 6 up to 13. The ground floor accommodation comprising of a large unique hand crafted lounge with adjacent dining / kitchen area, Spa Suite with a large walk in rainforest shower plus Jacuzzi bath. All bathroom areas have under floor heating .On the groundfloor there are 2 bedrooms, one is a Family (Double bed & 2 powder bunks**), the second is a bunkroom with 3 powderbunks. Upstairs accommodation consists of two super King Size ensuite bedrooms plus a small box/bedroom with 2 powderbunks. All bedrooms are equipped with Freesat TV’s.
It is very hard to explain the ambience of this exceptional lodge the bespoke and sumptuous lounge area is designed for entertaining and relaxing. Its cosy rustic atmosphere is decorated with high quality furniture, Highland and Ski memorabilia, a cosy log stove and a 52inch TV Freeview TV, all making this an ideal place for relaxing with your morning coffee, a drink after a day out in the area or that big family meal “Perfect”.
The lounge opens out into a dining kitchen area which has a bespoke table made from locally sourced Douglas Fir timber The kitchen is equipped with double oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, 2 wine fridges, washing machine and a tumble drier, plus all the standard kitchen equipment you will need!!
Snowy River Lodge is centrally heated and double glazed throughout, also complimentary Wi Fi Internet connection is available, and all bathrooms have under floor heating.
The lodge’s outdoor space has been very carefully designed by the owners with a large, private and sunny riverfront multi layer deck area, which is accessed through 2 sets of patio doors. On the upper deck sits a unique and stunning hand carved bench styled table, a gate leads you to the lower spa deck where a magnificent “Barrel” sauna is situated (its like something out of Tom Sawyer!!) As the deck drops down to the river a 10 person Hot Tub is located so that as you luxuriate in the bubbles, you can hear and see the river flowing by. Next to the Hot Tub is a open fire pit with bench seating all around, curved stone steps take you further down to the banks of the Dulnain River, with rocks pools and sandy patches ideal for paddling, fishing or watching the world go by.
Snowy River also has a cracking fire pit – The concept of a Fire pit originates in the old pioneering days where everyone sits (usually with a sundowner) around the pit after the days activity to chat about the events of the day!!

Snowy River Lodge is ideally situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, only a few minutes walk to the original highland ski village of Carrbridge with its shops, restaurant, traditional highland pub, café and the famous Landmark adventure centre, yet still only a few minutes drive to the vibrant centre of Aviemore, the UK’s outdoor adventure capital.
The Lodge is very close to Wolf Lodge so joint bookings may be taken for larger parties. Snowy River Lodge is owned and operated by the same family who run some of our most popular and sought after properties – The Old Mill on the Spey, Highland Lodge Estate and “the Crofts of Cairngorm”, who pride themselves in delivering the ultimate in guest experience.
The lodge also has a safety zone so your children & small dogs cant get access to the river (NB. this must be supervised by adults at all times)
