Sleeps up to 8 - Wildcat lodge, located beside RSPB Marshes Nature reserve approximately 3 miles from the highland village of Kingussie which is situated in the Cairngorm National Park.
Kingussie Railway Staion is only a five minute drive away and the property is close to some very special restaurants, bars, shops and other amenities.
Wildcat Lodge is the absolute perfect location for a gathering of good friends and family looking for luxury in a quiet rural setting, yet only 5 minutes drive from the village of Kingussie with it’s shops and pubs.
Wildcat Lodge is part of a 200 year old coach house and steading, which once served a local country house. This wonderful steading has been redeveloped in 2015 into 6 semi- detached luxury lodges and completed to a very high specification. The steading building comprises of a traditional open U shape with a central grassed courtyard with aspects into the courtyard from one side, and onto the open moor and woodlands on the opposite side where a spacious patio houses a hot tub and a BBQ. Close to Ruthven Barracks, Wildcat Lodge is in a truly magical location and immersed in local and national history.
Wildcat which sleeps 6 + 2 , is the first Lodge in the Steading and has been fitted out to an extremely high standard. With tweed furniture and several Highland icons and antiques it salutes the past but gives all the benefits of modern living. It truly is a tasteful, stunning lodge.
The lodge is on two stories. The main entrance is a heated bootroom where plenty of boot racks and coat hooks are provided for all occupants. The accommodation on the ground floor consists of a main lounge, decorated in warm colours with leather sofas complimenting the furniture. There is a wood burning stove to keep you cosy, a 50 inch TV for nights spent in front of the fire, and a large table which seats 8 diners.
The second lounge “The Sportsmans” also boasts comfortable leather sofas, one of which is a double bed, tweed cuddle chairs, a 50 inch TV and another log burning stove. There are games provided for family fun.
The kitchen comes with granite worktops, stylish cupboard storage, a 6 burner range cooker – perfect for a great family meal! All other appliances you would expect including a dishwasher, microwave, washer/drier and fridge/freezer. You will find all the cooking and baking utensils you will need in this traditional and styled room. Enjoy morning coffee at the antique bakers table.The first floor houses the main sleeping accommodation of the lodge with a very restful gallery to view the artwork. The master bedroom has an en- suite shower room with a Super-king bed, tweed headboards and throws with soft lighting. The second bedroom is a large twin with full size single beds boasting more stylish tweed furniture. The third bedroom has another two single beds and a Juliet balcony to enjoy the view. All bedrooms have a 32 inch TV with free-sat and are well appointed. There is a family bathroom, again tastefully finished.
Outdoors, we have the hot tub and also a separate bike and ski storage shed, lockable, and logs are provide free of charge. Wildcat is perfectly situated for those who wish to enjoy a range of activities such as Fishing, Clay Shooting, Skiing, Hill Climbing, Mountain Biking and several Golf Courses. Guests can also fish at the lodge owner’s loch. Catch your supper at Loch Vaa it is fully stocked with fish and can be fished free of charge between 23 May 2016 to 31 October 2016. You also have use of the boats stored in the boat house. There are some unique opportunities to view wildlife and watch shinty locally.
