Seals, otters, basking sharks, amongst a superbly diversified local willdlife, can be spotted notably alongside the whole scenic southern coast . Magnificient sunsets over the Mull of Kintyre make evening walks on the beach or the western coast particularly enjoyable. Historic King's Cave and its mysterious carvings is said to be the place where Robert the Bruce had his famed encounter with a spider. Arran's finest collection of stone circles can be found on Machrie Moor. The whole moorland is littered with the remains of early man, from hut circles to chambered cairns and solitary standing stones. The Coastal circular walk offer wonderful and unique views from the Mull of Kintyre to the Firth of Clyde and the Scottish mainland.
Easily reached within 20-25 minutes from both ferry ports on Arran, Green Brae offers a quick access to the numerous adventureous places and sportive activities found on the island, like Shiskine challenging 12 hole golf course, hillwaking on Goat Fell or climbing the Saddle, experiencing ridges in the Northern parts or sea kayaking.
