Our Greenley Croft Wigwam Holiday site includes just one en-suite Wigwam, making it one of the most peaceful and secluded glamping destinations. It's located on a small croft on the unspoiled Banffshire Coast, between the charming seaside villages of Pennan and Gardenstown both places where you may experience sightings of the Northern Lights. Greenley is no longer a working croft, but there are a couple of horses to say hello to. In addition to our Wigwam, we also have a working pottery and small gallery on site, the owners are retired now but the pottery can be opened on request. When looking for the Wigwam Cabin look out for signs to Salix Pottery.
There are a number of brilliant walking routes just a stones throw away from the Wigwam. The Five Farm Walk boasts incredible coastal views. Another nearby route leads you to the majestic cliffs of Troup Head, home to the largest mainland gannet colony in Scotland. This path is also great for bikes, you might also spot a few puffins, porpoises, or even a pod of whales from these seaside paths.
Another walk takes you to Iron Age Fort Fiddes with its lovely sheltered beach and the famous 'Hells Lumb'. From there you can walk down to Culykhan Bay a magical spot for wild swimming, paddling boarding, kayaking or snorkelling etc. It's the perfect spot for a quiet holiday, ideal for walkers, birdwatchers, beachcombers and cyclists with many trails nearby.
Greenley Croft Wigwam Holidays site provides a great base for enjoying the many golf courses in the area, exploring the Malt Whisky Trail, or the Banff Castle Trail starting with Duff House. It is also a great stop off for the Northeast 250 or a great base to visit the famous Cairngorms, Speyside and Loch Ness. Local amenities are only a mile away, in Gardenstown there is Eli’s Crafts Cakes and Coffee Café for a lovely coffee/cake or light lunch or The Gardenstown Arms for a cosy pub meal (please check opening hours). Gardenstown also has two well stocked food shops one at the top of Gardenstown the Spar and one at the bottom “ The Wee Shoppie which is open late most nights and sells some wines and whiskys. The Pennan Pub in the other direction but still within two miles has recently opened again and serves meals over the weekends but please call to book.
