This welcoming, detached holiday cottage is set in the heart of the picturesque conservation village of Ceres. Ceres hosts Scotland’s oldest free Highland games, a week long programme of events culminating in the Highland games on the last Saturday in June. This is an ideal year-round location with a cosy wood burner in the lounge and a sunny garden with a stream. There are excellent cycle routes and footpaths from the cottage, and the Fife Folk Museum is just a five minute walk away. Visit the National Trust Hill of Tarvit Mansion, which is one mile away and offers a unique golfing experience on a 9-hole course using traditional ‘hickory clubs’. The area is famous for golf and there are a multitude of fine golf courses close by, which are suitable for all abilities. The village has a good pub and a hotel serving food, two tea rooms, antique shop, family butchers, village store and the renowned Wemyss Ware Pottery. St Andrews is seven miles away and Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth are all within an hour’s drive. - See more at: http://www.scottish-cottages.co.uk/central-scotland/kingdom-of-fife/halyn-cottage-cc526027#cottage-overview
