Set on the outskirts of Kirkwall, Orkney's capital, Hariheim is a pleasant 20-minute walk from the heart of the historic town. The lodge is situated within a quiet cul de sac, next door to the exceptional Lynnfield Hotel Restaurant, and a 5-minute walk from Highland Park Distillery, a 5-star visitor attraction. Fast fibre broadband is provided as standard. Check-in is via a key storage box and the owners live only a few miles away.
Hariheim has a comfortable lounge, modern, well-equipped kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms—one double, one twin—with plenty of wardrobe space. The lodge is located in an incredibly quiet area, sharing a cul-de-sac with a few other homes, so you can be assured of a good night's sleep after your Orkney adventures. A travel cot and high chair can be provided on request should you be travelling with infants. Hariheim is fully-fenced and has a generous wooden deck area where you can enjoy views over Highland Park Distillery and Orkney's green, rolling landscape. Well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.
Hariheim is a 3-minute walk from a Stagecoach X1 bus stop, operating hourly between the St Margaret’s Hope Ferry Terminal in South Ronaldsay and the Stromness Travel Centre. As well as an enjoyable 20-minute walk into Kirkwall town centre, there are plenty of other options to explore your surroundings, including a 30-minute walk to Scapa Beach (and, yes, Scapa Distillery!), a 10-mile loop walk that takes you up and over Wideford Hill, and a 4.5-mile loop walk to Inganess Bay.
