Hawthorn Cottage is a bright and modern cottage that has been renovated within a steading in the Highlands. Attached to Juniper Cottage, the property has been well furnished and equipped with the holidaymaker in mind. The sitting/dining area is spacious and airy, and although the kitchen is quite compact in size, it is definitely sufficient for a family of four. The bedrooms upstairs are a fantastic size and each has the added bonus of having an ensuite shower room. Outside, the shared seating area is the perfect place to spend those sunny days with your favourite tipple in hand, and there are lochs near the cottage where you can listen to the birds sing their dawn chorus each morning. The loch itself makes a lovely walk, and you will soon forget how close you are to the nearby town considering how rural this cottage really feels. This is the perfect place for those wishing to have a break in the peace and quiet.
Invergordon is a popular tourist destination with overseas cruise liners, which regularly dock in the town during the summer season. Keen golfers have numerous courses to play on, including Royal Dornoch and Tain Links course nearby, as well as a course in Invergordon itself. Whisky-goers can visit nearby Glenmorangie, Dalmore and Whyte and Mackay for a dram, and there are lots of nice cafes and restaurants in each of the local towns. For those who are looking to do some fishing, beginners can learn at the loch beside the cottage, and for the more experienced a trip further north to Ardgay and Lairg is definitely worthwhile for salmon and trout fishing. Take a walk up Fyrish to see the monument which played a part in the Highland Clearances, and the view from the top is certainly worth it. Whatever you decide to do on your holiday, Hawthorn Cottage is a great base from which to explore from.
