The village of Badachro (pub) is scattered round the lovely bay of the same name, two hours drive west of Inverness and 6m from Gairloch (all facilities). Detached, in its own enclosed garden (furniture) and high on a hill, with glorious views across the bay, Hillcrest is a substantial, traditional, detached cottage which offers very comfortable family accommodation, with open fire in the sitting room and oil-CH. Other features include iPod dock, wi-fi (subject to provider) and, more traditionally, a piano.
This area is second to none in terms of scenery and wildlife. Walkers and climbers will find that they are close to the famous mountains of Torridon and from Red Point, just down the coast, you can walk right round the cliffs to Diabaig. The bay beneath the cottage is a favourite harbour for yachtsmen, and boat trips are available. Gairloch has a golf course, pony trekking centre and fine sandy beach, so the reasons for coming here are stacking up apace.
