Ithaca House is an attractive ground floor property with a small landscaped back garden which allows direct access to a lovely sandy beach. Beautiful views and spectacular sunsets over the West Bay may be observed from the conservatory.
The seafront location is quiet and yet only a few minutes' walk from the bustling high street and a wide selection of interesting shops. There are numerous restaurants to suit all tastes.

* In the high season letting is on a weekly basis, Saturday to Saturday. During the winter months short breaks (min. 3 nights) may be possible depending on availability.

Things to do and places to visit
Lothian region boasts an exciting range of events and festivals throughout the year such as the Fringe by the Sea which is part of the Edinburgh summer Festival and brings the fun of the fringe to the seaside town of North Berwick. In autumn and winter East Lothian also hosts the Lennoxlove Book Festival and the Lammermuir festival which features beautiful music in historic settings.
The highland games and regular appearance of the local pipe band provide an enjoyable spectacle for visitors during the summer months.
A wealth of wonderful sights and attractions make East Lothian an ideal base for touring and visits to historic towns and charming villages such as Dunbar, birth place of John Muir and the county town of Haddington. The Museum of flight which is home to Concorde is well worth a visit and also castles such as Dirleton and Tantallon.
For visitors interested in wildlife, the Seabird centre which is only a few minutes walk from Ithaca House is a must. Boat trips take visitors from the harbour to the iconic Bass Rock which hosts a colony of 100,000 gannets as well as seals and puffins.
Sport and Leisure
Scotland is the home of golf and there are two magnificent courses within 5 minutes walk from the centre of North Berwick. The West Course is a championship links course with several holes played over the sea and the Glen golf course is also challenging and provides excellent golf as well as beautiful views over the sea and the Islands. Further afield, East Lothian is a golfer’s paradise with links and parkland courses to suit all tastes and abilities.
Beautiful beaches provide perfect places for picnics, sandcastles and sunbathing. Ithaca House has a path from the back garden which provides direct access to the West Bay and sandy beach.
For visitors interested in sailing, East Lothian Yacht Club based in North Berwick is a mixed dinghy and yacht club. The club house which is a 200year old listed building is situated beside North Berwick harbour.
For the energetic, East Lothian also offers many cycle routes passing beautiful sandy beaches such as Gullane and Yellowcraigs. Or travel on foot along the John Muir way.
North Berwick offers a wide range of sports facilities including tennis courts and putting greens. There is also a very good indoor sports centre and swimming pool.
East Lothian has a well deserved reputation for the excellence of its home grown produce. With its North Sea coastline and some of the richest farmland in Scotland it boasts superb seafood and meat plus the finest fruit and vegetables. Award winning food is complemented by fine wines and for the connoisseur, a wide selection of the best Scotch Whiskies. North Berwick provides restaurants to suit every taste. Many are located on the High Street and there are several Sea food restaurants in the harbour area.
Ithaca House is a short walk from the railway station or taxis are readily available. The journey to Waverley Station, Edinburgh takes app. 35minutes so visitors can enjoy the city sights and attractions whilst being able to return to the spectacular views and tranquillity at Ithaca House. The bus stop is also within easy walking distance and buses are available to Edinburgh and also the local area.
