Jordanstone is an exceptional country house - beautifully presented and full of style and character, it is a much loved family house. Surrounded by its own gardens, the house has a wonderfully relaxed feel which is perfect for socialising and special celebrations. There is a wing designed by famous architect Robert Lorimer and open fires bring this great house to life with a warm, welcoming feel. The Billiard room and the library are both beautifully panelled and most of the bathrooms are original which all adds to the luxurious status of the property.
Accommodation is excellent with exceptionally spacious rooms and huge light public rooms with large working wood fires, which make ideal socialising areas. Whilst retaining the period features, the large house has been extensively refurbished to include a modernised family kitchen/sitting room and everything you could possibly need to enjoy cooking and eating meals. The many spacious bedrooms are on the first floor and second floor with the majority benefiting from wonderful views across the gardens and fields and the numerous bathrooms mean that there are enough facilities to cope with a full house.
The gardens are delightful, with terraced lawns and borders perfect for ball games and croquet. Inspect the spectacular Victorian glasshouses, some of the largest still in existence, sample the crops of figs, peaches, tomatoes and more. The central double height room can be used as a sitting room with views across the walled garden and formal fountains. A team of gardeners will keep you supplied with produce from the walled garden. Explore the octagonal well house with its views to the formal garden, the garden house adjacent to the croquet lawn and the extensive paths and orchards that surround the house. There is also an all-weather tennis court in the grounds sheltered by attractive planting. There are a network of paths and private roads around the estate which can be explored on foot or bicycle. Close by this beautiful large holiday house there are two golf courses and less than an hour away are the Championship courses of Carnoustie, St Andrews and Gleneagles. There is fishing nearby on the North and South Esk or the famous River Tay and the very attractive Angus Glens, also nearby, are excellent for walking and home to an abundance of wildlife.
