Less than an hours drive from Aberdeen, Keepers Cottage is ideal for families, couples or a group of friends who want to be close enough to the city while enjoying the countryside.The Cottage has three bedrooms; first bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has twin beds and the third bunk beds.
The cottage has a private entrance, ample parking and a access to over 30 acreas of woodland, set 3/4 miles from the main road it is an ideal place for children to play safely. The cottage is on one level, double glazed, centrally heated and well equipped.
There is a large open-plan kitchen/dining area with a large table and 6 chairs, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer, gas hob and electric cooker. Plenty of crockery, pots, pans, and glassware etc. a lounge with a wood burning stove (wood available), a TV for playing DVD's (please bring your own dvd's). There's a 3 seater settee and 2 single seats. Carpeting throughout with the exception of the Kitchen which has a wood floor.
Fresh flowers and a Welcome Basket containing bread, butter, eggs, biscuits and wine will be in the cottage for your arrival as well as tea, coffee and milk. Extra groceries can of course be requested prior to your arrival, at an additional cost.
Keepers Cottage is situated at The Owl and Pussycat Centre. The Centre houses a number of birds of prey, cats, dogs and horses, the centre offers animal assisted therapy for children and adults with additional support needs as well as our unique Owl and Hawk walks. The is the opportunity to visit and engage with our animals during you stay.
The cottage is well situated for exploring castles (located on Brucklay Castle estate), stone circles, tucked away coastal fishing villages and beautiful long sandy beaches. You can follow the Whisky Trails, play golf at one of the many excellent nearby courses or enjoy some great fishing. All are within easy reach.
Take a picnic and enjoy the beautiful nearby beaches which include Balmedie, Newburgh, Inverboyndie, Cullen, Fraserburgh, and Forvie Nature Reserve for wildlife enthusiasts.
The nearby towns of Ellon, Peterhead and Fraserburgh have excellent restaurants and the village of Pennan, where scenes from Local Hero were filmed, is a short drive away.
Pets are welcome, but we do ask that you bring with their vaccination cards showing upto date vaccinations to safeguard our own dogs, and they are kept within the main living area of the cottage, and not in the bedrooms.
Linen, towels and electricity are included in the price.
