Kincurdie Cottage is unforgettable. This fantastic crofters cottage is on the shores of Rosemarkie Beach, in a quiet location on a private estate. You're just steps from the beach, half a mile from the Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club, and a leisurely 5-minute walk from the local village pub. With space for up to six people to sleep in three lovely bedrooms, Kincurdie Cottage is ideal for families or friends.
Rosemarkie beach is on the magnificent Moray Firth. It is gorgeous in every season, with a sandy beach that's within strolling distance of the cottage, an excellent cafe, and panoramic views towards Fort George. You may be lucky enough to spot some of the bottlenose dolphins that visit to feed every day, especially if you walk up to the lighthouse, but, even if you don't, the views are still memorable. The calm waters are good for a dip (if you're brave enough - it is Scotland, after all!), the sand is perfect for castles, and there are rock pools to explore. Fairy Glen is another picturesque spot within walking distance of the cottage, and a good choice if it's too hot for the beach or it's been raining.
Staying at Kincurdie Cottage makes it easy to explore. It's only half an hour's drive to Inverness where you'll find a wide array of places to eat, drink and shop, as well as galleries, museums and historic churches. The site of the Battle of Culloden is also about 30 minutes by car from the cottage. It's hard not to be moved as you stand on the site where 1,600 men were killed in under an hour in what was one of Britain's bloodiest battles.
