In 1949 the then Lord Maxwell gifted the 4 acres of land now known as Kings Green Caravan Park to the villagers of Port William, Wigtownshire, South West Scotland. It has been looked after by the Port William Community Association (SCIO) on behalf of the village ever since.
Our lovely small coastal site is overseen by a volunteer committee and run by two seasonal wardens Hilary and Gail. All the profits from our site go back into the village for the benefit of the residents.
Site is open MARCH to OCTOBER for tourers and tents, there are no static caravans on site
We are an all grass site situated right on the shores of Luce Bay with spectacular views to West across to the Mull & Rhins of Galloway (on some days the Mountains of Mourne in Ireland are visible). To the South sits the Isle of Man.
We have 30 pitches – 21 with EHU & 9 without. We welcome all tourers in caravans, motor homes or with tents. (PLEASE NOTE: Thick Strong Steel Pegs are advised for ALL Tents & Awnings – the thin hook type provided with tents & awnings are not strong enough for our ground). The pitches are all mostly flat but ramps are needed on some.
As the site is right on the beach all pitches have a great sea view. The ground is quite hard so if you are putting up an awning or a tent strong steel pegs are advisable. It also drains well, so we can accept large units without any problems.
Kings Green Caravan Park is ideally situated as a base for visiting the many attractions the Machars & Rhins of Galloway have to offer. Or if you prefer, just sitting quietly and enjoying the glorious views.
